"GIG" Alert 01-27-2013

Week in WRAP
1. Visiting Adrianna
This past Thursday night I received a phone call around 9:00PM from an unknown number. Upon answering the call, I heard Adrianna's voice from the other end, calling from OSF Children's Hospital. She called to one, ask if I could pray for her and two, tell me that she missed me.

Adrianna was admitted that Thursday with a temperature of 102.5 after receiving the flu shot earlier in the week. 100.5 is considered dangerous for her so I knew the situation was serious. After our talk on the phone, I sent out a prayer request on Facebook and began organizing an RSQAURED hospital visit. I have visited the children's hospital before, but never with 12 other people! I wanted to take all of them to Adrianna, but was not sure if the staff would allow such a large group due to the FLU restrictions. My plan was to "Face Time" the RSQAURED group from Adrianna's room while they were in the lobby, but God had a different plan. Instead, the hospital staff agreed to let Adrianna visit with us in the waiting room.

Thursday night, I told Adrianna that I would be coming to visit Friday, but never mentioned bringing RSQAURED. On top of that, Friday morning Rashel Hariford contacted Adrianna's teacher, Mrs. Watson, and asked if her class could make cards for us to take to Adrianna. She said they could so that night, we went to the hospital 12 people, 12 smiles, and 25 cards strong. We surprised Adrianna in the waiting room and then sat down as a group, taking turns to read each card one by one to her. By the look on her face, I think we made her night :) Please see the attached collage picture! For more photos, visit our Facebook HERE

2. Culver's Fundraiser
After a successful bake sale in 2012, we have been busy brainstorming ideas for our first Fundraiser of 2013. After a few weeks of pondering different restaurants, we finally decided to pursue a Culver's night! What better place to have a fundraiser, right?! Culvers is where RSQAURED was founded and is one of our favorite places for dinner, fellowship, and ice-cream (or should I say custard!). We submitted our form to host a fundraiser and should hear back from them this week. We will keep you posted as the event plans continue to unfold.

Be safe in the crazy weather this week! As of right now, weather.com calls for a high of 60 Tuesday and a low of 1 Thursday. Only Illinois would bring us a 60 degree temperature change :)

Have a SUPER fantastic week everyone!

-Tim

"GIG" Alert 01-20-2013

Week in WRAP
Two years in the making and RSQAURED continues to change the world, one tune at a time!

Thank you to EVERYONE who came out to join us Friday night! We had our largest group to date at the Christian Center, largest group of musicians, and we took up the entire middle section of Culvers! In February of 2011, the first picture of Noah and I was taken at Culvers. Never would we have dreamed that in two years, we would have a group of 29 people taking up the entire corner of the restaurant for a picture (check out the attached photo!). God has blessed us in so many ways, and we are eager to see what He has in store for RSQAURED's future.

With 2013 here, we are ready to rock and roll with some new ideas. The first is our NEW t-shirt design! Please check out the attached picture of it on our cake (which was delicious)! The shirts will still be lime green with our symbols and lightning bolt on the back, but the front design will change. Please take the time to check out our t-shirt PAGE and watch the YouTube video that helped inspire the design. On that page is also a description of why we have a group t-shirt and pass them out for free.

Within these next few weeks, we hope to plan a fundraiser that will help kick-start some exciting new ideas! So much has been happening lately, and I cannot wait to share with you how God continues to surprise and bless this group!

Until then, have a so GOOD you can HARDLY stand it week!

-Tim

"GIG" Alert 01/13/2013

Week in WRAP: January 13th, 2013
A few weeks have passed since the last RSQUARED "GIG" Alert! School finals and the holidays took over, but we are back in action and have some amazing stories to share with you!

1. RSQAURED 2 Year Anniversary!
Two years and one day ago on January 14th, 2011 RSQAURED was founded! It is hard to believe that everything started with Noah and I "randomly" playing our saxophones at Culver's in East Peoria. With an attitude to change the world one tune at a time, we did our best to make things "right" and continued to spread our passion for music. Within a few months we expanded to the Christian Center and were inviting our friends. By the end of the year, we had a few saxograms under our belt, hosted our first fundraiser, and have not stopped moving forward since! God has blessed us in so, so many ways and we want to celebrate this Friday, January 18th with a "classic" RSQAURED night. We will be going to the Christian Center for bowling then to Culver's after for ice-cream. The invitation is open to everyone!! In addition, we have a surprise for all in attendance...that evening we will be unveiling the NEW RSQAURED t-shirt design on a custom cake, yes I said cake! So even if you do not like bowling, come for a slice of delicious cake!

2. Christmas Caroling
On December 21st, RSQAURED held our end of the year Christmas Celebration. We had over 20 people join us for a night of fresh hot-chocolate, apples to apples, the "cups" game, homemade chili and cookies, and most importantly an RSQAURED first...Christmas Caroling! Bundled up in winter jackets, hats, gloves, (hand warmers for the lucky ones), we went from house to house spreading the Christmas Spirit!

*See the attached picture of our group at a neighbor's house!

3. The Website
If you have not visited the RSQAURED website lately, you need to make a visit. Our graphic designer, Tyler Neyens, has been hard at work updating the pages and making our site one-of-a-kind! I would especially recommend the history page. With the two year anniversary tomorrow, you can look back all the way to January 14th, 2011 and watch how we have evolved!

Have a SUPER fantastic week everyone and we hope to see you Friday!!!

Tim
