Pumpkin Carving

This past Friday marks the FIRST ever RSQAURED night of pumpkin carving. We kicked off the evening by taking our caravan of vehicles down to the Smith Farm in East Peoria. After picking out our pumpkins (ranging in all sizes from less than a pound to over 100 pounds!), we went to our friend Corrie Faye's house to begin carving. We are so blessed to have met the Fayes because they agreed to host all of us for the night. Now when I say host, that is an understatement...because of the rain, we had to carve inside and the Faye's let us take over their dining room, dining room table, and kitchen! They even made us freshly baked pumpkins seeds (so delicious!). Check out the attached picture of the group and our carved pumpkins!

Methodist Service League Christmas Gift Show
If you need plans for Saturday, November 3rd, come join RSQAURED from 9:00AM-2:00PM at the Methodist Atrium building in Peoria for the 62nd Annual Service League Gift Show! We will be playing Christmas tunes for the Service League vendors and shoppers to help kick-off the holiday season. There will be fresh homemade goods, handmade items (such as decorations, trinkets, and other neat stuff), clothing, and plenty of smiles to go around! We hope to see you there!

Light the Night
for Adrianna
RSQAURED's favorite time of the year is during the holidays. Last year was our first time hosting an event called Light the Night. Our mission for Light the Night is to find one person from our community and make it their very own SPECIAL night! Last year we honored Sophie Schneblin and helped her raise $250 for the Arthritis Foundation. This year, we will be hosting Light the Night in honor of Adrianna Brown. Adrianna is a second grader from East Peoria who has been diagnosed with ALL (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia). She is a ST Jude patient and is still undergoing treatment.

Thanks to Evan and Jeff Hickerson, Light the Night will be hosted at the Mud Puddle Brick Oven on Friday, November 23rd from 5:00PM-8:30PM. We are still in the planning process, but we do know the night will be full of delicious pizza hot from the brick oven, dozens and dozens of delectable cookies, live Christmas music (bands a singers will be announced soon), and a visit from Santa Claus!
We want this to be an evening where Adrianna can forget about leukemia, the hospital, doctors, nurses, and medicine. Instead, she will feel surrounded by a community of people who love, care, and support her! The more people we have attend, the more people there will be to help us Light the Night for Adrianna and make this an evening she will truly remember for a lifetime.

How can you get involved??
Simple...we are opening the invitation up to everyone and need your help to spread the word! This week, I attached our flyer for the event. On the flyer is Adrianna's picture and information about Light the Night. We invite you to print out the flyer and share it with everyone (friends, family, co-workers, classmates)! Any questions, comments, or ideas please let us know!

Week in WRAP
School, high school football games, band competitions, have all been keeping RSQAURED quite busy these past few weeks! Although we have been busy, our group found a day to visit the Peoria Heights Tower Park. In addition, RSQAURED's favorite time of the year is approaching, the holiday season, and we have already started planning a few exciting events!

To begin with Tower Park, on Friday September 28th, we journeyed to Peoria Heights for an awesome view, frozen yogurt from Sweet Cece's, and some amazing fellowship time. As a group, we went up the Heights Tower which stands 200 feet above ground! We had a breathtaking view of Peoria and front row seats to the best sunset in town. Please see the attached picture of our group (the sky background is beautiful!). A night with RSQAURED is never complete without some "form" of ice-cream, so we topped off the evening with Sweet Cece's Frozen Yogurt...Mmmmm!

As I said, RSQAURED's favorite time of the year is during the holidays. Last year was our first time hosting an event called Light the Night. If you have any questions about Light the Night, would like to be more involved, or have an idea to share, please call me (Tim Brown) at 309-369-4025.

I hope everyone has a super, SUPER fantastic week!
